Amelia’s Story
I write stories of romance and fantasy, stories of life and love, success and failure. I write stories that explore faith, hope, and love. And always magic.
I write, and read, to discover.
What’s your heart book?
A love of reading is always ignited by a heart book - usually sometime during childhood - that sparks the passion for story. I had two: The Silver Brumby and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Other favourites, and heart books, followed. But these were the first.
What sparks your first story ideas?
Before a mark is added to a page, stories are written on the heart and the life of the writer; sometimes scribbled onto scraps, which scatter in the breeze like tumbling leaves. I am here now — a lifetime of parenting, teaching, reading and travelling later — writing the stories that have lived in my heart and kept me company on lonely nights, days of illness, and peaceful walks along the beach. Story ideas that have sprouted from the books I’ve read, travels I’ve experienced, and the love and the loss common to us all.

World’s of Magic
A world where magic and fae folk are thought lost to myth. Where friendship and love appear in unexpected places, hidden family legacies come to light, and magic is found again. Inspired by Australia’s Alpine mountains: a normal land, or a place where caves bridge worlds?

Editing & Proofreading Feedback
“This book had already been through so many readers. Amelia’s eye to detail caught some annoying typos and mistakes that were somehow missed in previous edits.”
— Non-fiction Author “This is the story of my life and it’s hard to be objective. Sometimes I’ve written chapters and I say to myself ‘should this go in my memoir’. Amelia, one of my best encouragers, helped me to stay on track. I appreciated her ability to get the overall flow of what I have written, and her expertise.”
— Memoir Author“Thank you for your kind, encouraging words and your thoughtful, measured approach.”
